White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake (gluten free, grain-free, Paleo)
If you are gluten intolerant, then you know what a pain it can be to find good recipes for things you like to eat. Try out this recipe for White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake (gluten free, grain-free, Paleo) . Although this recipe is not dairy free, it has no gluten, is grain free and considered Paleo. Paleo means not eating grains or gluten, but increasing protein and vegetable consumption. Gluten is a substance found in grains, like wheat, that people with celiac disease, who have a hard time processing these grains, can't eat. Although some can still process dairy. Which can then open them up to a wide variety of different foods. Like cheesecake! Many people think that being gluten free is a choice, but for some it is something they must do in order to be healthy. The results of eating gluten for people with celiac disease, can cause extreme health problems like severe stomach aches, and cramping, as well as irritable bowel syndrome. So, many people who eat gluten free, have to or else they know they will suffer the consequences and be in pain. Its great to be able to read other peoples experiences and try out different recipes that they know are great because they have worked hard to create them.
Adriana Harlan, from Living Healthy With Chocolate, who eats a Paleo diet, came up with this awesome recipe for White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake, and it looks heavenly! People might think that all of this just sounds too health nutty, and takes the fun out of eating something like a cheese cake, but really it doesn't, it just adds back in some ingredients that are more natural than the processed and refined sugar, or the graham wafer crumbs. The recipe instead uses ground almonds mixed with coconut oil and honey for the crust, in which all of the ingredients would be good for you. Then, a nice layer of real chocolate that is made with real cacao powder and not the over processed stuff that we are used to finding in the grocery store. This way, when it isn't over processed, you get all of the great nutrients from it, like magnesium and antioxidants. It pays to eat this way, and you do feel better than if you would be putting chemicals into your system, and poisoning your body.
The cheese cake layer is made with organic, grass fed cream cheese, which is less processed than the commercial stuff. This layer also uses honey for sweetener rather than the refined sugar, which is nice. I also try and make my recipes using honey or maple syrup instead of refined sugar too, and the recipes turn out just as great honestly!
