Free And Virtually Unlimited Fuel To Heat Your Home
Depending on the climate where you live, home heating bills can be enormous at certain times of the year. If you have a fireplace in your home you can drastically reduce your heating bill even if you have limited access to firewood. This YouTube video shows you how you can turn your junk mail and any other excess paper you have lying around into paper logs that you can use as fuel to heat your home.
For this project you will need a couple of buckets, a few tools, water and lots of paper. You can gather junk mail, flyers and old newspapers from various locations or ask your neighbors to save theirs for you. Shredded paper would probably be ideal for this project since the paper gets mashed into a pulp during the process anyway. You could try approaching a paper shredding service to see if they would give you some of their waste paper if you are not able to source enough paper otherwise.
Once you have completed the project you will end up with a round "log" made from paper pulp. Your fuel logs will need time in a warm location with good air circulation to dry out so they will be suitable for burning. Once you have a fire going you can add one of these paper logs to heat your home for hours.
I think this is a valuable project for three main reasons. Firstly, it will help you reduce your spending because you will not need to use as much electric or gas heat in your home. Secondly, it is an excellent way of recycling excess paper into a useful household item. Lastly, it reduces dependence on wood for home heating. Trees are essential for the health of our air and for combating climate change. Anything that helps to keep more trees standing is worth the effort. Check it all out at the YouTube link below.
